Guard Tours
A physical Guard Tour Operation requires security guards to perform a tour of a site, building or any infrastructure to perform inspections and to report any issues they may identify during the tour.
There is usually a defined route that a guard must follow and there are specific times that the guard must be at a particular checkpoint. Most tours have combinations in terms of routes and times for security reasons.
With a Guard Tour system, security staff within a security control center can monitor the progress of the guard tour as the security guard utilizes access control readers which are placed throughout the facility or site. If a security guard does not ‘badge’ a particular card reader at a specified time, an alarm will be triggered.
The Guard Tour system can also utilize CCTV cameras which allows security staff within a security control center to visually follow the security guard during the tour.
Guard Tour functionality provides:
- Checkpoints, either by input, output, doors, logic blocks or integrated system items.
- Tour reports, showing when the checkpoints were arrived at, and what personnel were involved.
- Live operation of a guard tour, a control room operator manages the live implementation of a tour.
- Tour alarms that can be configured to trigger if the checkpoint is arrived at too early, too late, or in the wrong order.
